She says things that seemingly contradict with her personality and goal. Furthermore, Aurelia herself obviously had some of her dialogue influenced by the original dialogue of everyone else. She is out to destroy powerful enemies, yet (-spoiler-) Pickle still apologizes when suggesting the enemy deploy their most powerful troops. This wouldn't be a problem, if it didn't conflict with Aurelia's personality and goal in being a vault hunter. The main issue I have with this is that none of the dialogue the characters other than Aurelia speak was changed. The impression she gave me is that she was uncaring for the most part, and that she thought of most of her journey as inconvenient. She seeks the pleasure of besting her prey, nonchalantly striding through the story. Lady Aurelia Hammerlock is presented to us as a character out for enjoyment, looking to experience the thrill of the hunt. It doesn't remove the problem that she bolsters little ability to live though, aside from one of her sniper tree skills that creates a healing/reviving nova on critical hit with a sniper (It affects you, too).Ĭonfronting the issues with the dialogue, however, it's quite vexing. This problem is removed with a contracted ally though, as long as they're playing a character with some survivability. As a character, she lacks the ability to survive well enough on her own, so you'll often run into situations where the game feels extremely unfair if you encounter a difficult enemy. Now, the problem I had most with this character is her solo play (Low survivability not much to bolster your defences), and her quotes/messages in response with the conversations carried out within the story of Borderlands TPS. Many of the benefits that you gain are shared between your contracted partner, though the person under contract generally receives slightly smaller bonuses than you do. There are passive buffs to 'rare' (Blue/Purple/Orange) guns and passive nerfs to 'peasant' guns (White/Green). Some of the skills do not necessarily require a contracted partner, but you are required to go through the beginning skills which do. The right side tree is interesting, as it involves contracting a coop partner to recieve mutual benefits you become their master, and they your servant. Your activatable glacial storm also receives duration buffs and cooldown reduction through the tree, allowing you to have the ability out for longer, and to use it more often. While the middle tree offers a lot to aid your action ability (The glacial storm) and cryo damage, it also somewhat limits your ability to effectively use the fire element, as fire damage causes a stacking buff gained by dealing cryo damage (that buffs freeze chance and cryo damage) to quickly diminish. Many of the skills can be used without using a sniper, but the tree is largely aimed at supporting a sniping role. The sniper tree (left) offers considerable boosts to gun damage and bonuses to aid sniper rifles, including a sniper skill that rewards repeatedly successful shots and an element of choice ability while sniping. Her skill trees are alright, but some of the abilities are quite conditional. When beginning a game she starts with around $31,000, and two very rare (purple) weapons a jakobs sniper rifle, and a hyperion pistol. The Baroness is presented as a wealthy, high class woman who owns a turbo mansion and a lot of pocket change. Overall the skill trees Aurelia, our Lady Hammerlock offers boast high damage and large stacking buffs.
